The latest Mazda crossover SUVs are loaded with premium features and designed to perfection. If you are in the market for a smaller model with two rows, the Mazda CX-30 and the Mazda CX-5 are both strong contenders. The Mazda CX-30 is a subcompact crossover SUV that sits below the compact Mazda CX-5 in the lineup. The most obvious difference between these models is seven inches of additional length on the Mazda CX-5. However, there are other exciting differences to explore before making your next purchase at Classic Mazda.
Performance
The lower trims for the Mazda CX-30 are powered by a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter engine that produces 191 horsepower. The higher trims have a turbo 2.5-liter powertrain system that generates 227 to 250 horsepower. Both are equipped with a six-speed auto transmission and all-wheel drive. The Mazda CX-5’s lower trims have a 187-horsepower, 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. The higher trims come with a turbocharged version of that engine, which generates between 227 and 256 horsepower. The Mazda CX-5 has the same transmission and drivetrain as the Mazda CX-30.
Appearance
The 2025 Mazda CX-30 is remarkably sporty, with effortless flow across the profile, sleekly angled definition on the doors, and a thick band of lower-body molding. Its front fascia is elegantly linear, while the chrome-underscored grille stretches wide. Slender, angled headlights spin off the grille for an athletic touch. The Mazda CX-5 has a taller roof line with minimal lower-body molding. The sides display sculpted, angled contouring. The grille is larger, with bold accents on its flanks. The headlights are also slightly larger yet have the same sleek shape as the Mazda CX-30’s headlights.
Features
The Mazda CX-30 is well-equipped with standard or available features like enhanced adaptive cruise control, a surround-view camera system, a heated steering wheel, a 10.25-inch infotainment system screen, synthetic leather seats, touch controls for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an auto-dimming rear mirror, a head-up display, a wireless charging pad, a Bose sound system, and others. While the Mazda CX-5 has many of these features, it is also available with wood trim, a navigation system, a driver attention warning, parking sensors, leather seats, heated front and rear seats, and others.
