Mazda has unveiled the revamped 2014 Mazda6 Wagon ahead of it’s appearance at the Moscow Auto Show in late August. However it appears as if the new Mazda 6 Wagon will not be made available in North America immediately because they are currently only manufacturing to European and Russian specifications. Apparently there are no immediate announcements regarding sales of the newly designed 2014 Mazda6 Wagon within the United States. What are we missing out on here?
Photos released online reveal a sleek new design that takes the idea of sport wagon into new territory. The automobile features the new SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2014 Mazda6 Wagon emphasizes fuel saving with their proprietary i-ELOOP adaptation system which utilizes regenerative braking. This type of braking stores kinetic energy while the car decelerates and then stores this energy in a capacitor which redirects the power toward electrical components like the stereo and climate control system. This use of a capacitor system rather than an electric motor with battery pack saves internal space and lightens the overall weight of the vehicle.
The 2014 Mazda6 Wagon debut at the Moscow Auto Show will be followed by an appearance at the Paris Auto Show next month. This emphasizes Mazda’s regard of the European and emerging Russian market. Mazda is expected to release details about American sales sometime before the Los Angeles auto show in November.
